Paul Srand

Paul Strand was an American photographer. He was born on October 16, 1890 and died March 31, 1976. Paul Strand was a legendary photographer of his times.
Our photo pre-assignment was to find out who Paul Strand is, the styles of his photos and really what he is about. We are suppose to pick three pictures of his and describe why we like them and why they stood out to us.
I chose this picture because it is cute, the child seems so innocent but lost in the world.

This picture of the chair and shadow seemed creative to me because it's a picture that finds the light.

I really like this picture of the boats because it reminds me of home and my past.

Chasing the Light
Light can mean many things to many different people. It could bring happiness towards them, it could wake you up in the morning by creeping through the cracks of your blinds in your room. Chasing it could drive you crazy, trying to find the perfect light to take that million dollar picture, but it could be in front you and you don't realize it. If you took a picture at ten in the morning and then at five in the afternoon at the same location, angle and kept all the variables the same but the time, the picture could look completely different from the earlier picture. Chasing the light and having the right lighting could change a picture and perspective completely.
