Minor White

"Minor Martin White was an American photographer born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. White earned a degree in botany with a minor in English from the University of Minnesota in 1933." He was born on July 9, 1908, and died June 24, 1976. Here are three of his photos that I like of his.

Near and Far

The pre assignment to this assignment is in the link to my blog  http://sonyazblog.blogspot.com/2013/10/ansel-adams.htmlThe History of Photography Artist of the Week Ansel Adams
First I really wanted to capture a landscape picture of my liking.
The ocean means a lot to me so I wanted to have that be apart of my images.
I wanted to stay within the same are for all three pictures but I wanted to show that there can be many different views from that one location.
The steps I took in creating these pictures where to find a spot I really liked and try to takes pictures in the form of Ansel Adams.
The aspect of my pictures I liked the most where that they all involved the ocean.

Post Shutter Speed Assignment

The pre assignment was to look up Harold Edgerton and find out what his photography was like.
I learned how to set your shutter speed so you can capture the moment.
The steps I took for this assignment was to find out what type of photographer Harold Edgerton and take pictures in his style.
The thing I like the best about my images is the face on one of the jumpers, it is priceless.
The only part of the assignment I had trouble with was that the camera seemed to take a while to focus.
I overall liked my photos but I think the resolution could have been clearer.

Walker Evans

"Walker Evans was an American photographer best known for his work for the Farm Security Administration documenting the effects of the Great Depression. Much of Evans's work from the FSA period uses the large-format, 8x10-inch camera."He was born on November 3, 1903 and died on April 10, 1975. Here are a few photos I like of him.
This photo interesting because the town looks almost abandoned, like they are waiting for something spectacular to happen.
I thought this photo was really cute because the child looks nosey and is not suppose to be listening to someone else's conversations.
I like this picture because it seems so New York in the olden days where there would be like a cool play and this could be one of those signs.

Robert Frank

Robert Frank was born on November 9, 1924 (age 88). "Robert Frank is an important figure in American photography and film. His most notable work, the 1958 book titled The Americans, was influential." Here are three pictures of his that I liked the most:
This picture really interests me because I want to know what Frank was thinking when he decided to put a cigarette in like a ten year olds hand, well I know that he defiantly want the controversy but why?
This is a cool picture of Robert Frank because it just reminds me of Miami and all the fun memories I had down there.
This picture is interesting to me because it reminds me of when there were the drive in movies and what it was like in the old days.

Post-assignment Assessment for this week's assignment: The post assignment was to find three picture of Imogene Cunningham that I really liked.
How did you evaluated your work, what were you looking to create for the assignment, and was this idea a good idea?  I really tried to take close ups of flowers and other things in the style of Imogene Cunningham.
And what steps did you take to create your assignment?   First I looked at her work to see what her style of photography was. Then I took close ups of different things at different angles, then I compared then to her work and I decided which one were the best.
How could you improve your image or process? I could improve my images by using photoshop and using a camera instead of my phone

Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams was a landscape photographer who was born February 20, 1902 and died April 22, 1984. This assignment is to take photos of landscape and choose three pictures I like of him.
I like this picture because it doesn't seem real.
This picture reminds me of Twilight and I am a fan of that series.
This photo really got my attention because it seems like such a mysterious place to be at.

Pre Harold Edgerton

The idea of this assignment was to create a perfectly still shot while someone jumping. These are some of my inspirations.
This picture is interesting to me because I like the way is shows every step it took to flip.

This picture is cool because the bullet made a perfect hole and created an interesting shot.
I like this picture because I am a fan of playing cards.

Imogene Cunningham

I like this picture a lot because it reminds me of the chains used on fishing boats and it reminds me of when my dad use to fish.
This flower seems so cool to me,
This flower reminds me of the bottom of a wedding dress, and I love weddings!
